It’s a few hours into Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve turned out just wonderful. Mom and I made final preparations for today’s meal (she’s hosting the family Christmas dinner), had dinner consisting of deli salads (no cooking was my idea), chatted and then exchanged gifts.

My mom gives the greatest gifts. And gave me (as a final gift) the first volume of Doctor Who season one. Which totally made sense because the entire series is quite pricey.

After all the other great stuff she’d given me, I thought it made sense. But she apparently thought she’d bought me the entire season. I explained that there were actually a few more discs, but that the first one was great.

She looked at me, confused, and said, “Hold on.” Walked away and came back with the rest of the season.

Quite the joker, my mom.
